Explore Sri Lanka’s remarkable mix of ancient landscapes, tropical gardens, mountain scenery and wildlife. This seven-day private journey combines Sigiriya, Kandy and Ella with an optional wildlife safari near Udawalawe National Park.
Meet your driver at Bandaranaike International Airport and travel to the Sigiriya / Habarana area. Check in to your hotel and relax after your journey. Depending on arrival time, a short local outing may be arranged.
After breakfast, explore the UNESCO-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress, subject to weather and your preferred activity level. Spend the afternoon at leisure or choose an optional visit to Dambulla Cave Temple, a village experience, or a responsibly operated wildlife excursion in the wider cultural triangle. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Travel south toward Kandy. If not visited on Day 2, stop at Dambulla Cave Temple along the route. Continue through the changing countryside and check in to your Kandy hotel. Enjoy Kandy Lake, a viewpoint or a relaxed city walk if time permits.
Leave Kandy for the tea-growing hill country. Enjoy scenic viewpoints and optional tea-estate or waterfall stops along the route. Continue to Ella and settle into your hotel. A hill-country train segment may be requested in advance, but seats and schedules are subject to availability and would change the driving arrangements.
Discover Ella at your own pace. Visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge viewpoint and enjoy views of the surrounding hills. Guests who enjoy walking may choose Little Adam’s Peak, subject to weather and fitness. Leave time for local cafés, scenery and relaxation.
Travel from Ella to the Udawalawe area, passing beautiful southern landscapes. An afternoon jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park may be arranged if conditions and arrival time allow. The safari is optional unless explicitly included in your quotation, and sightings of elephants or other animals are never guaranteed.
After breakfast, travel to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward flight. This is a substantial road transfer; the departure plan must be confirmed against your flight time. For early departures, we recommend changing the final night to an airport-area hotel.
